    Andrei is a fresh PhD doctor from EURECOM/TelecomParisTech on the subject of “Software security in embedded systems” and also a CS graduate of the Politehnica University of Bucharest. While starting out his IT-career in the computer games industry, he has worked in the telecom field and also was a senior developer at a specialized firm programming various GSM/UMTS/GPS sub-systems.

    He is the author of the MiFare Classic Universal toolKit (MFCUK), the first publicly available (FOSS) card-only key cracking tool for the MiFare Classic RFID card family. He is known as the “printer guy” for his “Hacking MFPs” and “Hacking PostScript” series of hacks & talks at various international conferences. Lately, he was spotted security-harassing airplanes with ADS-B hacks (though no planes were harmed during the experiments) and remotely hacking fireworks/demolition/pyrotechnic systems (though no fireworks show were spoiled and no buildings were demolished). He is passionate about security in a holistic fashion.

    Andrei presented his research at nearly 30 security conferences worldwide and at present he is mostly busy developing cutting edge security research for IoT/embedded systems as part his Firmware.RE project.

    Radu Marinescu is full professor of software engineering at the Politehnica University of Timisoara, where he heads the LOOSE Research Group. He is also Group Manager for Code Quality at Endava, where he aims to make code quality part of Endava’s organisational DNA. Radu’s interests are focused on software design, quality assurance, software metrics and refactoring. He is co-author of the “Object-Oriented Metrics in Practice” book, one of the best selling titles on metrics.

    Radu strongly believes that research must ultimately flow into software products that have influence the state of the practice in software companies.     Mihai works in Cluj-Napoca, is a technical speaker at local user groups and is one of the AngularJS Cluj meetup organizers.

    Florin works as an IT consultant focused on Microsoft solutions based on Windows Server, System Center, Hyper-V, Azure and Automation.

    During his college days he joined the Microsoft Student Partners program on the IT PRO track and studied on-premise and cloud infrastructure technologies using Microsoft Windows Server and the System Center Suite and after PowerShell got to version 3, he then started focusing his attention on all the ways he could scale infrastructures using automation techniques. After a while he then took on the challenge in getting certified on the Microsoft technologies he mostly worked on and became a MCP passing the System Center and Hyper-V certification exams and then a Microsoft Virtualization Specialist. In his first year as a Microsoft Student Partner, Florin got to the final stage of ImagineCup Romania and after learning from the experience he then participated at RestartEDU competition where he achieved second place.

    Florin’s current main focus is implementing and managing on-premise and cloud solutions based on Microsoft Windows Server, System Center and Azure, eliminating all the tedious management tasks using PowerShell and PowerShell DSC.
